Manila SDG Festival, Forum and Workshops for Health, Wellbeing, Peace and Climate Justice DECEMBER 1 – 10, 2021 (BLENDED EVENT)/ MARCH 22/23 2022 (FORUM) ; APRIL 3/5 2022 (FESTIVAL)
- SSCC has been a lead partner in this global exercise with numerous partners, including UNESCO and other members of the UN family, the Senate, the House of Representatives and the Government of the Philippines under the guidance of its eminent member Cecile Alvarez. Cecile is a UNESCO Artist for Peace, Director of Earthsavers UNESCO Dream Centre and President of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) Social Change Network.
- The Manila event was originally scheduled for March 2020 but was postponed to December 2021 due to Covid-19. Following the surge of the Omicron variant of Covid, the event was divided into three parts: a blended event was held from 1 to 10 December 2021; the forum on 22/23 March 2022; and the festival from 3 to 5 April 2022.

Efforts are continuing to convert this valuable SSCC has created a network of Youth Ambassadors for South-South Cooperation in order to promote exchanges of best practices amongst youth leaders of nations of the Caribbean, Central and South America, Africa, Asia and Arab countries.
Cecile Alvarez has continued her work on SDGs by metamorphosing her earlier efforts in Manila by creating a coalition with SSCC, the Climate Institute in Washington, Energies 2050, and Art’s Planet in France, focusing on resilient techno expressions, strengthening peace and seeking climate justice.
