Praia, Cape Verde – In a significant meeting held in the vibrant capital of Cape Verde, Viktor Sebek, Chairman of the South-South Cooperation Council (SSCC), engaged in a fruitful dialogue with Mr. Augusto Jorge de Albuquerque Veiga, Minister of Culture and Creative Industries. Joining the discussions was Ms. Indira Pires, Head of the Institute for Leadership in Praia.
The meeting underscored the vital role of music as a tool for peacebuilding and cultural exchange. Both parties explored the potential for a groundbreaking collaboration between artists from Cape Verde and Colombia. This initiative would be carried out in partnership with the Colombian Center of the International Theatre Institute (ITI), co-chaired by Dr. Sebek.
“The fusion of Cape Verdean and Colombian artistry has the power to bridge cultural divides and promote a message of unity through music,” remarked Dr. Sebek. The partnership aims to harness the universal language of music to foster peace and strengthen ties between the Global South.
SSCC continues to champion initiatives that highlight the transformative power of culture, aligning with its mission to drive sustainable development through innovative South-South cooperation projects.
