New Leadership at the Colombian Centre of ITI Announced

Bogotá, Colombia – On October 15, 2024, Dr. Viktor Sebek, co-chair of the Colombian Centre of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) and Chairman of SSCC, proudly introduced the newly appointed members of the ITI Board. The Centre, which maintains a strong partnership with SSCC, is poised to further its mission of fostering cultural exchange and promoting the performing arts in Colombia and beyond.

The new Board members bring a wealth of experience and expertise from various cultural and artistic fields:

  • Nicolás Montero, celebrated actor and theatre director, will serve as Co-Chairman.
  • Ramiro Osorio, Colombia’s first Minister of Culture and current Director General of Teatro Julio Mario Santo Domingo.
  • Xiomara Suescún, Director of the National Centre of Arts.
  • José Francisco Aguirre, Executive Director of the Foundation Santo Domingo.
  • María del Pilar Ordóñez, Director of COCREA (Colombia Creates Talents).
  • María Paola Guerra, Director of Culture at COMFAMA.
  • Jahir Rivera, SSCC Board Member and renowned harpist.
  • Ana Copete Álvarez, representative from the Office of Culture, Governor of Cauca, Cali.
  • Evelia Porto González, member of the Foundation Tocando Puertas.

Dr. Sebek emphasized the importance of this diverse leadership, stating, "The Colombian Centre of ITI has always been a cornerstone for artistic innovation and cultural diplomacy. This new Board reflects our commitment to nurturing Colombia’s rich cultural heritage and connecting it with the global stage."
