At the initiative of SSCC Chairman, and his former undergraduate student from Roma 3 University, Valerio Ferri, a webinar was held to discuss future linkages between Roma Tre University in Italy and SSCC.

Facilitators were Dr. Sebek, Chairman of SSCC and Professor Manfredi Merluzzi, dean of Humanities. Professors Maria Chiara Giorda, Pasquale de Muro , Gennaro Gervasio , Marco Micheli and Marco Catarci also participated on the Roma 3 team, whilst SSCC was represented at this first meeting by Cecile Guidote Alvarez, Abdulhameed Al Saleh, Ladi Nylander and Saman Rai.

Following presentation of the current projects of Roma 3 universities, it was agreed that there existed a great potential for joint work especially in Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and China linking Italy through Roma Tre with SSCC.

Institutional arrangements are currently being explored as well as possible joint work. Other members of SSCCC boards will also be involved at the next meeting.

It was agreed that Rome 3 will join the tricontinental university alliance and that further universities from European Union also might be added in the near future.
