SSCC held the first meeting of its core group of   Colombian youth wing and recently appointed regional coordinators, youth ambassadors,  for South Asia, South-East Asia, Africa and Euro Mediterranean region on 1st May 2024.

As a result of this inauguration meeting, it was agreed that Swati Simha will organize an activity focused on issues of how art and culture can contribute to peace in her volatile region, especially involving India and Pakistan and also relating to problems of  Rohingyas      refugees from Myanmar in Bangladesh.  Elijah (Nii Lante) Cunnison from Ghana will explore the similar theme with his colleagues, residents in Accra, from Sahel countries, in another volatile (Sahel) region of West Africa which has been a theatre of guerilla activities and frequent coup d’etats. Dewy Sacayan will continue prioritizing climate change, including popularizing science through art and culture as an Earthsaver, a member of Cecile Alvarez’ network. It was agreed that Valerio Ferri from Italy will focus, with his fellow students from the diplomatic academy in Rome, on the relationship between Italy and Africa bearing in mind that a great number of refugees from sub-Saharan countries and  from North Africa first landing post in Europe is – Italy.
