Ali Mohamed appointed as Climate Change Envoy in Kenya - A new chapter in the fight against global warming, led by SSCC member

The South-South Cooperation Council (SSCC) is pleased to announce that one of its members of the Scientific and Academic Board, Mr. Ali Mohamed, has been appointed as the Climate Change Envoy at the Executive Office of the President, Kenya. This is a recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of climate change and sustainable development, as well as his active involvement in promoting South-South cooperation among developing countries.

Mr. Mohamed has been a member of the SSCC since its inception in 2017, and has participated in several initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing knowledge sharing, capacity building and technical assistance among countries of the Global South. He has also been a vocal advocate for strengthening the role of South-South cooperation in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement on climate change.

As the Climate Change Envoy, Mr. Mohamed will advise the President of Kenya on matters related to climate change policy and action, and will represent Kenya in regional and international forums and negotiations on climate change. He will also coordinate with other stakeholders, including civil society, private sector and development partners, to mobilize resources and support for Kenya's climate change agenda.

The SSCC congratulates Mr. Mohamed on his new appointment and wishes him success in his endeavors. The SSCC also reaffirms its commitment to continue working with him and other members of the Scientific and Academic Board to advance South-South cooperation for sustainable development.
